17th March, Irish people all over the world and Irish wannabes celebrate the country’s national day. The River in Dublin sometimes runs green and at the home of the black stuff many a shamrock is ‘drowned’…. ( look it up!)
Here are five things you may not know about St.Patrick’s Day…thanks ABC News http://abcnews.go.com/US/st-patricks-day-2013-things/story?id=18723794
1- Paddy wasn’t Irish…..
2- Ireland never had snakes so Paddy never drove them out…..
3- Paddy’s colour was blue, not green…..
4-The first St.Parick’s Day parade was actually in Boston in 1737…
5-The shamrock was the symbol of the trinity used by Paddy and he wore this on his clothes…..hence the green.
